Open fires can sometimes be inconvenient, and some would say, messy and likewise when installing a gas fire you’d need to consider flue and gas constraints, the cost of installation and the annual servicing needs. Because of this many people choose an electric fire. They are 100% efficient at point of use, so no heat is wasted and the ‘flames’ can often be used independently of the heating so you can enjoy the coziness of the flames on those dark, but mild, spring and autumn evenings.
Electric fires are now available with ultra-modern, classic or traditional designs and can be wall-mounted, floor standing, freestanding and portable. Many don’t require a fireplace and in most cases you can just plug it in and you’re up and running.
Accessories for your electric fire
Accessories include spacer kits, alternative fuels beds (i.e. pebbles and logs) and hearth pads. We often have these items in stock in our showrooms but please phone first to double-check that what you require is not an order-only item.
Remote controls for your electric fire
Many electric fires now come with the ease of a remote control. This means you never need to leave your chair to switch it on and off and increase and decrease the heat. You cannot add a remote control at a later date so make sure if you want the ease of remote you buy a model that has it as standard.
